Le Domaine de Rhodes

Beyond a doubt, the most amazing rooms we found on our trip were at Le Domaine de Rhodes in Avignon. It was quaintness personified. The charming Bed & Breakfast has been fully renovated by the owners, Françoise and Paco and is situated on Barthelasse island, the largest river island in Europe.

We were lucky enough to be able to stay with Françoise and Paco for three nights, enjoying warm, down-to-earth conversations each morning over breakfast. Rose petal jam? Yes please!

The grounds of the property are beautiful and meticulously cared for... but not to the point of being overdone. It had the perfect balance of natural and refined. And the rooms!

The pace was slow, relaxed and magical… the perfect time and place for some sketching!

I would return to Le Domaine De Rhodes in an instant!

You're killing me! This looks like such a fabulous trip. My best friend is in the south of France this week with her family. I must go, and soon!

Quel elegance! What a delight that must have been, especially with the rose petal jam. Love the photo of you looking out the window -- you look like you belong there, and the sketches agree with me. (But I'm glad you're HERE!)

I followed some dirty footprints to get here - I bet you know whose!
That Chambre d'hote looks so lovely, it makes me want to hop on a plane right now. I could be at the airport in an hour, then a less than 2 hour flight from the UK and I'll be there.... It's just my kind of place. Did you go to Orange? And what about the roman aquaduct - can't remember the name but it is near Avignon.
