Croissants and Weed Trees

What a great weekend! The weather was amazing and treats were everywhere, starting with some freshly baked croissants by the Baklava Queen. They were every bit as amazing as the croissants I experienced in France. MMMMMMM!

This lovely breakfast was followed by conversation regarding the Great Garden Project of 2010. I have no experience in the world of vegetable gardens, so with the help of my in-laws, my hubby and the aforementioned Baklava Queen, (aka the Grain Maker and my planting guru) I am taking the first steps of an adventure in growing my own food.

First step, prepare the ground! Thankfully we are starting with great soil that has been utilized in the past, but it has been overgrown with weeds for years. After much raking and removal of brush, the task of yanking these beasts from the ground commenced with the aid of a tractor. Yes, I think I landed on my bum at least twice.

Grrrrr!

Of course, I'm poking away at the Woolykins at the same time, since Oddmall is only 5 weeks away (eek!). They are starting to resemble a small army...

Oh yum yum yum!!!
and I see grass!!!!!!!!
and Woolykins!!!!!!!!!

...I almost wrote Oddballs because I saw the word Oddmall, even though I know your creatures are called woolykins. Maybe they have oddball cousins or something, will you ask them for me?
Does it sound like I require more sleep or should slow down on the chocolate eggs?

I'm so proud of you, garden lady! We're going to be planning some plots in our small yard next weekend, but fear our black thumbs may not bring us success.

And I'm so excited for you and your Wollykin army! 15 more and you can take over Canada.
