Art and fun in Chicago

I can't believe I waited so long to visit the Art Institute museum!

A highlight: the Thorne miniature room. So tiny. So amazing.

Rossetti's Beatrice painting was an emotional moment for me. One of my first painting projects was copying this piece. I need to get a photo to share...

Beer + Man in Motion + drunk dude singing to Man in Motion + paper tablecloth and pen = happy.

Return of the Living Jen

It's alive! Belive it or not, I haven't disappeared completely... I've just been on a blogging sabbatical.

It's my favorite time of year. From mid-September to the holidays, I just feel happy. Why? Well, to begin with there is the combination of Autumn color and smells. Add memories of back-to-school, cool temperatures, and some of my favorite holidays and it's a cocktail of contentedness.

I have such a strong association with this time of year being the start of the school year that I regard Autumn as my new year beginning instead January 1.

And with that "beginning," I find myself regaining momentum on projects. Did I mention that this time of year makes me want to partake in creating more often? I think I will have a lot to share in the coming weeks...

For now, here's a few spooky woolies to get you in the mood for Halloween!
